Golden opportunities: 'realize' them and grab 'em!

I had received this wonderful email through a friend; and its subject read as 'Dua of a Fasting person'.. I had assumed that it is some du'a to recite and I kept that email last to read to see which du'a - thinking maybe it would be amongst the many 'already read Ramadhan du'as'..
I think I mustve wasted 2 or 3 days of Ramadhan with that assumption - and then when I finally opened and read it, I realized it was a Golden opportunity for me to have read the mail right on my birthday - but i let 3 days pass by..

It was indeed, the perfect gift from Allah SWT to me - for my birthday..and I missed out on it that very day..
But now that I read it, I wish that the 18 days of Ramadhan that remain, everyone else should make the most out of knowing the status of a Fasting Believer, especially at the time when he is opening his fast.

We only need to 'realize' our worth and status infront of Almighty Allah (SWT)...the incident to learn from, is that amongst the conversation of Prophet Musa (AS) with Allah (SWT) - where he mentions being honored to be the only Prophet who was called on on Mount Sinai for 40 nights, where he stayed there to communicate with Allah (SWT):

Once Hazrat Moosa (AS) asked Allah Taala: "O Allah ! you have granted me the honour and privilege of talking to you directly, Have you given this privilege to any other person?"

Allah Taala replied, "O Moosa during the last period I am going to send a nation, who will be the nation of Mohammed (SAW) with dry lips , parched tongues, emaciated body with eyes sunken deep into their sockets, with livers dry and stomachs suffering the pangs of hunger- will call out to me (in dua) they will be much much closer to me than you!

O Moosa! while you speak to me there are 70000 veils between you and me but at the time of iftaar there will not be a single veil between me and the fasting nation of Mohammed (SAW).

O Moosa I have taken upon myself the responsibility that at the time of iftaar I will never refuse the dua of a fasting person! "

So, Momineen what an opportnity Allah has given us!

Especially in the Holy month of Ramadhan, when we have this golden opportunity every day (almost only 18 days left though!), pls do not forget the Muslims around the world who are in real trouble specially in Lebanon and Afghanistan and Iraq.

Also, please remember your Marhumeen (dear ones who have departed this world - and who are only dependant on OUR PRAYERS for them)..

and last but not the least, please donot forget ME in your prayers!

With du'as, Sadaf Zahra

salaams sadaf,
really an eye opener..much needed..Allahs mercy is far greater than his wrath..let us remember our sins and ask for maghferah..."oppurtunities are like the passing clouds..then catch them the fleeting ones" Ali AS (Nahjul Balagah)

Assalamualaikum ,

Very inspiring, yes. Do you have a reference for the Hadith, if infact it IS a hadith? If not, what is the source? Everyone I shared it with has asked me for a reference.

Jazak Allah Kheir
